Barr Associates Ltd. began life some 20 years ago as Coating & Filter
Design Ltd. With our MD Alan Whatley at the helm we were producing
optical filters of exceptional quality to demanding specifications even
then. We then joined forces with Barr Associates Inc. one of the most
well respected and technically diverse companies in the field of thin
film optical filters.
Barr Associates Inc. was founded in 1971 by Edgar E. Barr. Ed was a
pioneer in the production of optical filters in the 1950's. Many of his
ideas and concepts are still being used today, not only at Barr
Associates, but throughout the industry.
Now that we have joined forces with Barr Associates Inc. we have a
greater capacity, offer a much wider spectral range and a wealth of
technical expertise at your disposal.
One of many large capacity deposition chambers at Barr Associates,
these chambers enable us to produce large volumes of optical filters to
very tight tolerances.
We like to get involved with your projects, becoming an extension of
your own project team. Offering guidance and and optical filter design
to help enhance the performance of the system.
