bitumen, and lubes for storage and transportation. Designed IMO0
tank containers provides up to 30% additional capacity.
Based in Sussex on the south coast of England, TEC (International)
Ltd. was incorporated in 1987 and has actively served the transport
and oil industries for the past 14 years. The core activity of the
company is engineering and design consultancy and the provision of
project management services for major international oil company
clients. TEC has a proven track record of leading the design and
management of a variety of successful construction projects
including liquefied petroleum gas (lpg) plants, lubricating oil
packaging systems, bitumen handling and storage facilities, and
transport systems.
Established to operate on a worldwide basis. TEC have been involved
in numerous projects in the African continent, the Middle and Far
East, Eastern Europe and Australia. They have successfully completed
projects from initial logistics discussions, design, engineering and
procurement to final installation, commissioning and operator
training.
Chartered engineers are part of the team of designers, project
managers, marketing sales and financial professionals at TEC. In
addition, TEC has the ability to call upon a wide range of
additional skills from other specialist disciplines.
In addition to a terminal engineering operations team, TEC also have
a design and mechanical engineering team dedicated to the design of
specialised containers. This team has designed amongst others, the
Bitutainer range of containers that have essentially transformed the
transportation of bitumen worldwide. This has been achieved by
adopting the philosophy of maximising product carrying capacity
within the constraints of a standard ISO shipping slot space for all
of their range of tank containers. This unorthodox approach has now
been accepted as the optimum method for the shipment of non-
hazardous liquid products.
The specialised container design team have at their disposal
computer aided packages for load and stress tolerances and complete
structural analysis. By working closely with the Lloyds
certification department in the UK approvals for all types of
containers can be realised within a comparatively short period.
Experience in working in the worldwide market has enabled TEC to
adapt it’s approach to finding the ideal logistic solution to suit
the conditions in any region.
TEC has forged links and partnerships with several heavy steel
product and container manufacturers in Europe and Asia. By working
closely with these organisations TEC has been able to ensure a high
level of quality and workmanship to complement their designs.
