of components for aerospace, medical and defence industries.
Westford Plastics & Engineering Ltd. is a privately owned company
established in 1964 to supply the growing demand for plastic components
for a diverse range of industries including:- aerospace, medical,
pharmaceutical, defence, water and electric service providers and
special purpose machine manufacturers.
Since this time, the Company has acquired an enviable reputation for
high quality products, fast and flexible customer responses and
specialist material and engineering expertise. Indeed, many of
Westford’s customers have been regularly trading with the company for
over 20 years.
In the year 2000 Westford joined forces with TMR a specialist company
involved in the production and supply of biomedical spare parts and
sub-assemblies. The TMR facility offers O.E.M’s and third party service
companies an alternative source for specialised parts required for
manufacturing and servicing of medical equipment.
Manufacturing Capabilities
Production facility covers some 12,000-sq. Ft. And includes:-
Machine shop: offering milling, turning, drilling and threading for
most plastics.
Plastics fabricating and forming: an alternative to injection moulding.
Reinforced thermoset moulding: low tooling cost products, size not a
problem.
Machine vacuum forming: 1200 x 1200mm blank size.
Spray paint finishing shop: polyurethane and epoxy paint finishing.
Flame polishing of acrylics.

The construction of precision tooling, including patterns and moulds,
is carried out in-house by our fully skilled and experienced team of
engineers.
In addition to our capacity to produce large and small batch work, we
can also offer a development and prototype service. Based on our
extensive and practical experience of thermoplastics and thermoset
composites we are able to co-ordinate with your design engineers and
offer specialist advice on material selection and techniques.
Quality assurance at all stages is of vital importance and the Company
operates a fully documented system based on the requirements of Defence
Standard AQAP 9. We are scheduled to have this updated to ISO 9002 by
December 2001.

Painter Brothers - A UK manufacturer of transmission towers,
communications towers, substation support structures, crossarm
steelwork, and unit construction bridge steelwork.
Our Company was founded at Hereford, England, in the 1920's and has
since grown into one of the most modern and efficient structural
steelwork fabricators in Europe, with a capacity in excess of 12,000
tonnes per annum.
Specialising particularly in the manufacture of galvanized steel towers
for the electrical transmission and distribution industries, we have
earned an enviable international reputation over the years for accurate
fabrication of these structures using computer controlled production
techniques.
In 1955 we became a member of the BICC plc group of companies - an
association which enables us to offer a fully integrated service
embracing every aspect of overhead electrical transmission and
distribution. When the international construction group Balfour Beatty
merged with BICC in 1971 we became part of their worldwide power
construction arm and we currently operate within the Balfour Beatty
power networks division of Balfour Beatty Plc.
Alongside transmission towers, our company manufactures masts and
towers for radio, television microwave and satellite communication.
Several of our structures are the tallest of their type in the world.
We produce lattice distribution poles, sub-station support steelwork,
flare stack support structures, railway electrification structures and
Callender-Hamilton lattice girder bridges - in short, any kind of
steelwork where interchangeability of parts and a first class finish
are essential.
We have on site a modern galvanizing plant which can process up to
20,000 tonnes of structural steelwork per annum.
