footwear. We develop and manufacture our footwear for professional users. The shoes

as possible. However, where advanced craftmanship is needed, we never

The Arbesko head office is located in Örebro. Production at our two
factories in Kumla and Strömstad. Central warehouse in Kumla. We apply
a written environmental policy in everything we do. Regular checks and
follow-up of our environmental efforts are conducted by external
control companies.

Arcus - Produces hiking, boating, and weekend shoes for men and women.
Designed and manufactured in France. International listing of stores
and on-line contact.
All Arcus patterns are drawn in 3 dimensions on computer screens.
Complex software enables then to cut directly the leather by taking
into account characteristics of each skin. Operators carry out
pressured water jet cutting in total secure conditions.
Arcus is strongly attached to the robustness of its shoes. That's why
most of men shoes are sewn : reversed welted, Goodyear, Blake, outsole
stitching.
Reversed welted is made up with 2 separated seams : one first that
joins upper, lining and insole and an other to fix the whole on a
rubber middle sole. This process is the best one as for strength,
resistance and waterproof qualities.
Arcus has added a 100% natural hevea milk sole (latex) to reach an
exceptional suppleness as regards this kind of manufacture.
Arcus is always looking for comfort.
The manufacture of the Moccasin which requires an extremely precise
process is the best example of its specialisation. It consists on the
use of a leather pocket which follows the sole of the foot before
being laced with a plug that covers the upper of the foot. This "plug"
is laced point by point with a rot-proof thread and stop stitches are
always knotted by hand.

Jones Bootmaker - Footwear manufacturer. UK
Jones is the story of family business, which began in 1857 when Alfred
Jones and his wife Emma opened their first footwear shop in London’s
Bayswater. Conditions were much harder than today with opening hours
from 8am to 8pm, except on Saturday when the shop was open until
midnight.
A progressive businessman, Alfred Jones was one of the first traders
to install electric lighting in his shop. This event caused crowds to
flock to his Bayswater shop to see the new miracle, mounted police had
to be called to dispel the throng!
Over the years, nine of Alfred’s sons were apprenticed to the shoe
trade, each eventually opening a shop of their own and all trading
under the name of A. Jones & Sons. Jones led the retailing field by
introducing stocks of ready-made shoes in 3 different widths and in
doing so, started a tradition in shoe fitting.
In 1911, the company acquired modest factory in Northampton. At first
little more than a hand-sewing workshop, the factory was developed
over the years to the point where it was producing shoes for the whole
company.

Lloyd - Produces and exports distinctive men's shoes from Germany.
The LLOYD shoe factory founded in 1888 moved to Sulingen in 1942. This
decision made the small rural town in the district of Diepholz one of
the the few centres of shoe production in North Germany. Today LLOYD
with its more than 450 employees is Sulingen's largest employer and
the last important centre of shoe production in Lower Saxony.
Compared to other German shoe producers, an extraordinarily high
proportion of the 7,900 pairs produced per day is exported. This is
