In 1926 six small dairy producers founded
a company called the
Cooperatieve Centrale Melkproductenfabriek – De Meijerij. The name was
later changed to De Melkindustrie Veghel, and finally altered to DMV
International in 1992.
Our company shield was first developed in
1948. The symbols, called
‘molenijzers’ come from the Middle Ages when lords and knights, who
fought bravely during the crusades, were given the right to mill and
store cereal, have their own court, and use their own seal. To display
those rights, the ‘molenijzer’ was incorporated into their family
shields, and later became part of the banners for cities and regions.
This symbol has been associated with the Meijerij in the southeast of
Holland, the region where our company is located, for many centuries.
The ‘molenijzer’ is the iron part in the center of a millstone that
allows the millstone to be adjusted.

Janice & Topsy met at National Childbirth Trust classes in 2000.
Weaning their babies & disappointed by the limited range of ready-made
organic babyfoods, they teamed up to share recipes using the best
possible organic ingredients & fresh-freezing in individual portions
for convenience preparation.
Their previous experiences proved an
ideal combination; soon they were
busy taking orders from a growing network of parents who also wanted to
give the very best foods to their children.
In 2001 they formed Truuuly Scrumptious
to meet the increasing demand
for a truly delicious range of organic meals.

and operating from a brand new
purpose-built unit near Radstock in Somerset, the Truuuly Scrumptious
organic kitchen is dedicated to producing meals specifically designed
for the developing tastes & nutritional needs of babies & children of 4
months & upwards.
In October 2002 Truuuly Scrumptious was
announced as outright winner of
the coveted Soil Association Organic Baby Food Award.
