The demand for fabrics to be waterproof led the company to invent and
to patent a process for coating textiles with a natural wax. This led
to "waxed cotton" fabrics that still endure the test of time to this
day. The idea of coating fabric with wax was revolutionary as nothing
had existed before that would keep out the weather. Waxed cotton
quickly became a standard product for all types of outerwear and
especially with the military.
With the arrival of man-made polymers such as nylon in 1938 and later
polyester came technological advances in manufacturing. New processes
and chemicals such as dyestuffs and plastics were rapidly taken up by
British Millerain ® and a whole new range of coated fabrics became
available for the first time.

nets individual for the customers, with different netcloths, colours,
