the manufacturer of underground warning tapes. The business started in
1975 with the sale of Insulated Safety Tools and Power Factor
Correction Control Relays. After more than 25 years experience in

range of electrical safety products and monitoring equipment into
these two categories.

Rafiki Protection Limited - UK based manufacturer of fire detection

Rafiki's initial aim was to design and manufacture 'intelligent'
conventional fire detectors with the view to incorporating these into
more advanced two-wire and addressable systems. The original
Multipoint conventional detector was LPC approved in early 1997 and
then became the cornerstone of all future systems.
The first Twinflex two-wire system was developed in parallel with the
Multipoint development and also launched in 1997. After establishing
the Twinflex and Multipoint products as innovative alternatives to
traditional conventional systems, further enhancements to the system
were added. In 2000 Twinflex Plus was launched. This incorporates
checkpoint technology and is ideally suited to buildings with multiple
occupancy.
Again in parallel to the Twinflex system enhancements the Sita 200
plus addressable system was developed and launched at the end of 2000.
This uses the Multipoint Plus, an addressable version of the original
Multipoint detector and provides the capability of having 200
detectors and sounders on one loop - an innovation currently unmatched
by any other intelligent fire detection system.
Rafiki Protection is committed to an ambitious R&D programme to
continue the innovative product development that has been its
trademark to date.
Rafiki Protection is ISO9000 approved and currently employs 25 people.

Remlive Ltd - Manufactures an electrical safety product that gives a
visual indicator of live electrical equipment. From UK.
REMLIVE was conceived following a tragic fatal accident at a South
Wales steel works. A fully qualified, experienced and usually careful
electrician was killed while testing or working on a live control
panel.
The Health & Safety Executive – Principal Electrical Inspector, who
investigated the incident, indicated that either the electrician was
testing / fault finding on a live panel and simply forgot it was
switched on, or he had made a section of the panel safe, left to get
equipment and either returned to the wrong section of panel or someone
had switched it on in his absence. Whatever really happened, only the
individual actually knows, but it resulted in his death.
Following the accident, Cardiff University were asked to design a
Visual Indicator of Live Equipment and the prototype was installed in
October 1994, at the same steel works, on a crane control panel for an
electric arc furnace. A testing installation for any product and it is
still working to this day (January 2002), and has done so 24 hours a
day 7 days a week.

In 1983 the torch was passed on to the second generation. Since 1987
Frank Ysebaert has been in charge of day-to-day management. YSEBAERT
