Hakvoort Shipyards - Dutch builder of super yachts, sail and motor
boats.
Monnickendam, on the shores of the previously turbulent Zuiderzee,
still projects a feeling of strong determination. A major chapter of
Holland's illustrious history was constructed here by the dedicated men
of the fishing and shipbuilding industries.
In this historic place, close to Amsterdam, Hakvoort Shipyards has
gained renown over the past 75 years for its building of exclusive
vessels, guaranteeing the highest quality.
Here on the docks of what is now the Ijsselmeer, the Compagnie van
Commercie en Navigatie' was established during the 17th century. The
dockyards in today's picturesque Monnickendam have remained a scene of
bustling activity. Ilakvoort, the successful and world-famous yacht
builder, is situated in the same location on the Havenstraat where the
'Compagnie' once stood.
Where magnificent fishing boats were once launched from the slipways,
the town, with its winding cobblestone streets, keeps the memory' of
maritime history alive. Albert Klzn . Hakvoort, grandfather of the
present owner, laid the foundation for a noble tradition of building
top-quality yachts.
Today, Director Albert Hakvoort has a firm hold at the helm, as this
illustrious family business has passed into the hands of its fourth
generation.
Thanks to Hakvoort Shipyards, many fine vessels cut through the seas
worldwide. They serve only one purpose: to give owners and captains
that powerful sense of freedom in the greatest possible style.
The paragon of that grand style is the Lady Marina. The European owner
visited many competitors, but the solid reliability of the Hakvoort
family business won his confidence. Numerous specialists contributed
towards the design and construction of this 90-meter custom-built
yacht. Even Klaas Hakvoort, Sr. (80 years old) was at the first
preliminary discussions: his wealth of experience was greatly
appreciated.
The Lady Marina offers the highest possible quality in both technology
and comfort. The yacht is the epitome of superior luxury. Sumptuous
onyx marble dazzling gilt bathroom fixtures, the warm colours of hand-
knotted rugs, wooden panelling specially manufactured in the Far Fast -
all lend the yacht a distinctive ambience.
Devoted craftsmanship down to the smallest detail characterises the
true supplier. Struik & Hamerslag fulfills this demand and ensures that
the client receives a superior yacht.
In the world of yacht building, the interior and exterior are equally
important. 'An exclusive yacht deserves just as unique an interior. As
with the custom work of famous couturiers, our efforts guarantee a
yacht which is eminently suited to its owner.' It goes without saying
that the Lady Marina can sail out with pride. The layout of the yacht
is composed exclusively of rooms that radiate luxury. In addition to
the owner's quarters, there are four guest cabins and seven cabins for
the crew. It also features a large sun deck with a jacuzzi, fitness
room, sky lounge, formal salon and dining room. Two luxury' tenders
provide transportation from the yacht.
As a shipyard, Hakvoort is to be counted among the absolute top.
Starting with the construction of 30-meter yachts, and progressing to
50 meters today, and if necessary, even 55 meters: the company always
adjusts to the demands of the market.

Siltala Yachts - Builders of the nauticat range of ketch rigged
motorsailers and pilothouse sailing yachts in Finland.
The nauticats are built by Siltala Yachts Oy in Finland. The yard is
situated 40 kilometres from the city of Turku in Southwest Finland. The
company has been building yachts for almost 40 years and today both
administration and production facilities are concentrated to
Riihikoski. The company has an international chain of skilful and
experienced dealers that takes care of world-wide nauticat sales and
service.
The secret behind the nauticats is quite simple-the demanding Nordic
climate and good taste. Finnish craftsmanship and the experience gained
from building more than 2600 nauticats have resulted in yachts admired
amongst discerning yachtsmen all over the world. The nauticat range of
yachts today is divided into two distinctive groups. The traditional
ketch rigged motorsailers and the pilothouse sailing yachts. The
traditional motorsailers like the nauticats 331, 38 and 44 offer you
traditional looks and still very modern cruising abilities. The
pilothouse yachts, the nauticats 321, 35, 37, 39, 42 & 515 were
designed with high performance under sail in mind, never forgetting the
traditional nauticat qualities and values.
No matter the size or type, nauticats have common qualities. They all
provide the vision required to command the yacht from inside or
outside. The pilothouse of a nauticat offers all-around visibility. The
pilothouse also offers shelter from burning rays of sun as well as from
the freezing wind. That's why a nauticat is suitable for both the
Caribbean area as well as the climate in Finland or Alaska. The
nauticats are famous for their comfort, spaciousness and reliability
both under sail and power. At the yard we think that there are no
shortcuts to quality and therefore we are dedicated to upholding our
reputation for building elegant and individual yachts to highest
standards based on experience. We think quality is not just a tired
concept squeezed dry by unimaginative copywrites. It's an attitude a
philosophy.
When choosing a nauticat you have the possibility of individualising
your boat to an extent not seen at other yards or on yachts of similar
size. We have a in-house design team and our crew encourages to fulfil
your dreams. Since all work is carried out at the yard in Riihikoski
the yard can be very flexible in the building process. We are also
aware of the fact that individualising of the yachts needs on the spot
discussions and that's why most of our clients visit us several times
during the building process. First the boat is only existing on a piece
of paper but step by step the dream comes true.
The whole building process of a nauticat yacht is concentrated on
quality. We want to build the safest and best quality yacht possible.
We think this is assured only by concentrating the whole building
process of the yacht to one place. Our production is concentrated to
our premises in Riihikoski. We have full control over our construction
process, due to the fact that we laminate the GRP hulls and decks
ourselves. Our carpenters individualise interiors out of teak-wood, and
the installations and fitting is carried out at the yard. Most
stainless parts on deck are made by our own skilled craftsmen. Even the
cushions, curtains and other textiles are made by ourselves.
The close co-operation with our suppliers has resulted in constant
improvement of functionality and quality of the equipment fitted on the
yachts. The rigging is provided by Seld?n, the engines are made by
Yanmar, our sails are manufactured by the local North Sails loft and
most navigation instruments come from Raymarine. On the other hand, one
has to bear in one's mind that due to the individualising of the yachts
we are used to fitting products from other manufacturers as well. Our
building process is a constant development process with the goal of
offering our customer's the best possible quality.
In the design and analysing of the yachts and for customised interior
drawing we are using the latest yacht design and CAD programs
available.
To ensure a long lasting and strong hull the hulls of nauticats are
always laminated by hand, using the best materials possible. The hulls
and decks are made of solid single skin laminate. Every yacht is tested
thoroughly in the testpool at the yard, before delivery. All equipment
is tried and goes through a testing program. Every single yacht is even
rigged and the sails are tested , no matter rain, snow or shine.
Our modern production facilities are heated up all around the year.
During wintertime the outside temperature in Finland might even go down
to - 30 degrees Celsius, so we know what it is like to build boats for
severe conditions.
