AD Aerospace - Manufactures internal and

AD Aerospace is a British company, based near Manchester, England,
which designs and manufactures a range of aerospace video camera
products, including state-of-the-art video security systems. In
addition to general airplane security applications such as threat
detection, physical security and access control, these systems are used
for monitoring activity in the cockpit, passenger cabin and cargo hold.
CabinVu, the latest video camera system in AD Aerospace's successful
FlightVu range of airborne security/safety video camera products,
offers the flight deck crew an opportunity to assess the situation
outside the cockpit door and identify people before allowing them
access. This has become increasingly more important following the DfT,
FAA and ICAO rulings on the fitting of intruder resistant cockpit doors
and provides a basis for decision making in critical and life
threatening situations.
The "entry level" system, consisting of a single/multiple video
camera(s) located outside the cockpit door and a dedicated LCD monitor
on the flight deck, is expandable to a full "FlightVu Witness" system,
extending the camera coverage throughout the passenger cabin. The
complete Witness system uses a FlightVu digital video recorder/server
to record the images for future use in investigation, analysis and
prosecution, and can also be seamlessly integrated with ground based
security systems, using wireless "Gatelink" connections to the airport
terminal.
AD Aerospace works with selected partner companies to provide customers
with high quality products and customer service. FreeFlight Systems of
Waco, Texas, supply high quality US based production facilities and add
FAA PMA approval to the FlightVu range of products.
AD Aerospace has chosen Aircraft Engineering & Installation Services
Inc (AEI), of Orlando, Florida, as our preferred installation designer.
AEI have many years of experience in the design of modifications to
commercial aircraft, and have offices in the US, UK, and China.
In conjunction with a major manufacturer of Air Accident Recorders AD
Aerospace is working to satisfy the requirements for a new generation
of Air Accident Recorder, which would cover video in the cockpit as
well as the traditional audio and data recordings. In carrying out this
work, the company is working with the European Organisation for Civil
Aviation Equipment (EUROCAE), which is supported by the UK Air Accident
Investigation Branch, the US National Transportation Board,
Transportation Safety Board of Canada, French Bureau d'Enqu?tes
Accidents, as well as the FAA, and CAA. AD Aerospace is instrumental in
driving the specification of the future Image Recording section of this
system.
AD Aerospace is a CAA/JAA approved designer and manufacturer of video
camera systems for commercial aerospace, and is an approved supplier to
